About Every Label

Every Label is written and edited by Symon, a food-allergy parent at the deep end of it. My family is partway through a Tolerance Induction Program (TIP), a variant of oral immunotherapy, working through an initial set of more than 40 diagnosed allergies, more than a dozen of them severe enough to risk anaphylaxis. So the label-reading, the auto-injectors, the school plans, the clinic visits, and the 2 a.m. second-guessing on this site are not theoretical for me. I write each page in that voice and check it against the published evidence.

What I am not is your allergist. Everything here is educational and sourced, every claim carries its reference, and every page shows when it was last reviewed. None of it replaces the clinician who knows your child. Where a specific clinical figure has not yet cleared independent medical review, it is held back and marked in the text rather than guessed at.

The recall roundups are my own sweep of the federal recall feeds (US FDA, USDA FSIS, Canada's CFIA, UK FSA), published weekly with the undeclared-allergen recalls an allergy household would actually want flagged, each linked to its primary source.

If you think a reaction is anaphylaxis, follow your emergency action plan: use epinephrine and call emergency services. Do not wait.
